Wheat...West coast exporters are showing interest in nearby ownership on
both white wheat and hard red winter, as bid structures remain flat for the
next 60 to 90 days. Recent demand continues to support white wheat, while
farm selling interest has waned at current price levels for hard red winter.
Crop Progress..USDA reported both Idaho and Washington sowed another 15%
of the winter wheat crop last week, with each state's progress now running
ahead of average at 40% and 65% complete, respectively. Oregon now stands
at 20% planted and 4% ahead of the average pace.
Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed total U.S. wheat shipments
were on part with the prior week at 14.9 mb, putting the year-to-date total
at 240 mb and 29% below a year ago. Both hard red winter and spring wheat
posted loadings near 6 mb for the week, while soft white wheat saw the pace
slip to 1.2 mb. Top destinations off the west coast included Guatemala and
Taiwan, at 1.8 mb each, follwed by the Philippines with 1.2 mb.
